The Small Object

About Sarah Neuburger

About me: All pieces are individually made by me, Sarah Neuburger. I received a MFA degree in Studio Art from the School of Visual Arts in 2001. Shortly after graduating, I started my online shop, The Small Object to sell my handmade goods directly to you. It was started in 2004 which seems like moons ago now! For the past 10 years, my full-time and only job is creating wooden pieces to mark a moment in your life and in illustrating stationery sets for Chronicle Books. I began making custom pieces at the request of my customers in 2008 and have fallen in love with each and every one along the way!

About my collection: Sarah Neuburger, the artist behind The Small Object, paints heirloom quality wooden figures to mark the moments in your life and creates incredibly detailed custom wedding cake toppers for weddings, anniversaries and celebrations for all! She also individually cuts and mounts rubber stamps from her fun doodle drawings! Her entire handmade collection inspires you to celebrate the milestones in your life with her painted wooden wonders and to create handmade pieces using her wooden block stamps--the perfect beginning craft project for any age.

The Small Object is the cottage industry of Sarah Neuburger. The collection contains objects carefully created to mark a moment. They celebrate our everyday and become the keepsakes of our most special celebrations. Sarah created her online shop nine years ago to directly connect with people that would appreciate her sensibility. Her line of custom wedding cake toppers, collectible wooden keepsakes, rubber stamps and handmade gifts are full of unique characters and drawings which are rather kawaii, despite her Southern roots. Appealing to both young and old, the everyday objects are created to help you make merry and to enjoy the rituals of our everyday.

Online since 2004. As one of the original custom wedding cake topper makers, I have been making custom wedding cake toppers since 2008. My work has been featured by Brides, The Knot, Glamour, Style Me Pretty, Brooklyn Bride, Charleston Weddings, Brides New York, Brides Atlanta, Lucky Magazine amoung others. Clients often tell me how my work is even more detailed in person and how their topper was the hit of their wedding! When I hear my work makes someone cry with joy, I could have no greater joy myself.

Location: I live in Atlanta, GA with my wife, three cats named Chloe, Charlie and Oscar and one three-legged dog named Milton. They are all fabulous.
